Prunus persica ‘Veteran’
A 1928 Canadian cross of Early Elberta, Veteran is the most cold-hardy peach we offer. The sturdy, late, pale pink blossoms are resistant to frost damage, even in full flower! 900 chill hours. This vigorous, self fertile tree has been grown for years in the Pacific Northwest and the colder parts of our nation.
You’ll enjoy abundant and reliable harvests of medium-to-large, yellow fruits graced with a soft red blush. The yellow, freestone flesh is somewhat coarse and easy to peel, making it particularly good for canning, drying and freezing. Veteran is one of our best all-around peaches!
